RSL launches e-Learning for Offender Managers

Red Snapper Learning are proud to announce the launch of Responsible Officer training for criminal justice professionals working with offenders.

Today RSL have launched two new continuous professional development (CPD) e-Learning programs, designed for practitioners working within the National Probation Service (NPS) and Community Rehabilitation Companies (CRC).

As from July 2015, all Red Snapper Group agency staff will be required to complete this CPD training, which comprises a range of subjects including:

  • Cognitive Behaviour Therapy
  • The Criminal Justice Act 2015
  • Legal Aid
  • Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Act 2012 (LASPO)
  • Foreign Nationals
  • Report Writing Skills
  • Information Assurance
  • Interview skills
  • Risk of Serious Harm and Risk Management
  • Child Safeguarding
  • Sentence Planning

Commenting on this initiative, David Peacock, head of Quality Assurance for the group stated: “We have created an e-Learning course that takes practitioners through the new legislation, recent policy changes and provides best practice guidance for Responsible Officers in what is a changing environment for everyone engaged in the delivery of probationary services. This training is written in a way that avoids unnecessary jargon, enables practitioners to test their understanding as they complete the course and presents the learning in an easy to understand style. This will be the first of many such CPD e-Learning courses that RSG will be launching over the coming months”

The course is available in two versions:

The NPS course, comprising 19 modules, is designed for practitioners working within the National Probation Service.

The CRC course, comprising 16 modules, is designed for practitioners working within Community Rehabilitation Companies.
