The Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025, commonly known as Martyn’s Law will come into force in spring 2027, with the Security Industry Authority acting as the regulator. The legislation will place proportionate preparedness and protective-security duties on those responsible for qualifying premises and events.

Description
This qualification provides learners with the knowledge and understanding needed to support terrorism protection awareness within venues, sites and organisations. Learners will develop an understanding of the terrorism threat context, common terrorist attack methods, the intent and key organisational requirements of the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025, and the role of vigilance, reporting and immediate response actions in supporting organisational preparedness. The qualification supports staff to contribute timely observations and information to the responsible person and/or colleagues with formal counter terrorism and protective security responsibilities.
