The Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025, commonly known as Martyn’s Law will come into force in spring 2027, with the Security Industry Authority acting as the regulator. The legislation will place proportionate preparedness and protective-security duties on those responsible for qualifying premises and events.

Description

Developed by SFJ Awards in collaboration with the National Counter-Terrorism Security Office, the Level 3 Award is an Ofqual-regulated qualification designed for people with responsibility for venues, sites, operations and organisational preparedness. Counter Terrorism Policing describes it as the only qualification in this area that it endorses.

Learners will develop the ability to:

· Understand terrorist attack methodologies and the counter-terrorism threat environment.

· Interpret relevant threat information.

· identify vulnerabilities and proportionate mitigation options.

· Promote a positive organisational security culture.

· Develop counter-terrorism risk assessments and preparedness plans.

Prerequisites

Please note that all registrations onto the Level 3 Award in Counter-Terrorism Protective Security and Preparedness qualification must be made in advance, so that you can be given access to the pre-course material.
