RSL Web Icons (1)

During this course, you will learn how to assess and manage the risks associated with working with potentially dangerous or aggressive individuals. If you work alone or engage with clients who are aggressive, threatening, or under the influence of drugs or alcohol, this course is for you.

We deliver the content in a blended learning format to meet the needs of each group. Our team can also combine different courses to meet the needs of our clients and we would be happy to design a customised course for you.

Learning Objectives

At the end of the course the students will be able to:

  • Understand the Powers and Policy relating to Personal Safety Training
  • Identify confrontational behaviours and how to manage them
  • Understand the Five Step Appeal
  • Identify diffusion techniques
  • Demonstrate practical application of skills

Course Length

  • 1-3 days

The training is designed to be classroom-based, and is delivered as such, over two days, at weekends, at RSRs offices in London and Birmingham. The modules are also available as an eLearning package. The eLearning platform is an entirely free to access service for all RSR registered candidates and our existing agency workforce.

The classroom-based course is also a free course but does require the delegates to attend at their own expense.

Course Suitability

Suitable for candidates who were qualified probation officers or experienced probation service officers and have been out of the service for between 2 to 10 years.
