Learning Objectives
The objective of the CTPSaP qualification is to provide learners with the knowledge, skills and understanding of the attack methods used by terrorists, how to assess the likelihood of such threats, and what mitigation strategies are available. They will also learn how to apply these strategies effectively. Additionally, they will recognise the limits of their own expertise and understand when and how to seek advice or support from specialist professionals.
This qualification has been developed in collaboration with the National Counter-Terrorism Security Office (NaCTSO). It has been designed with alignment to the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025.

What to Expect
This comprehensive 5-day Level 3 Award in Counter-Terrorism Protective Security and Preparedness qualification has been designed to provide maximum flexibility without compromising on quality. The course is delivered in a hybrid format, with 2 days of live virtual learning followed by 3 days of interactive classroom-based training. This approach allows delegates to build their theoretical understanding online before applying their knowledge through practical exercises, discussions and scenario-based activities in a face-to-face environment.
Throughout the qualification, delegates will complete the following modules:
- Introduction to Counter-Terrorism
- Positive Organisational Security Culture
- Counter-Terrorism Protective Security
- Counter-Terrorism Preparedness
- Completing a Counter-Terrorism Risk Assessment and Preparedness Plan
- Completing a Counter-Terrorism Written Recommendation
By the end of the course, delegates will have the knowledge and practical skills to identify terrorist threats and vulnerabilities, implement effective protective security measures, develop organisational preparedness plans, and produce professional risk assessments and recommendations that support compliance and strengthen organisational resilience.
