Aim

Participants will gain the knowledge and skills to recognise, report and record concerns to protect children and young people, and vulnerable adults.

Objectives

  • By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
  • Identify what is meant by abuse
  • Describe the different types of abuse and neglect, including signs and indicators
  • Implement the process for reporting your concerns and where to report them

Course Outline

  • Recognise and implement the law and guidance required to protect individuals
  • Work through definitions of abuse, using examples related to your organisation
  • Understand and work through the organisation’s policy and procedures
  • What does it look like to confidently and efficiently report, record, and support safeguarding concerns/individuals
  • Action planning
