Learning Objectives

The Level 2 Award in Counter-Terrorism Protective Security Awareness (CTPSA) provides learners with an essential understanding of terrorism, protective security and preparedness within the workplace.
The qualification is designed to help learners recognise potential terrorist threats, understand how individuals and organisations can reduce risk, and identify the practical actions that can be taken to improve security and preparedness. Learners will develop greater awareness of suspicious activity and security vulnerabilities, as well as understanding their own responsibilities and the importance of reporting concerns through the appropriate channels.

This qualification has been developed in collaboration with the National Counter-Terrorism Security Office (NaCTSO) and has been designed with alignment to the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025 (Martyn’s Law).

The Level 2 CTPSA also provides an excellent foundation for learners who may wish to progress to the Level 3 Award in Counter-Terrorism Protective Security and Preparedness (CTPSaP) and develop more advanced skills in counter-terrorism risk assessment, preparedness planning and protective security.
